Last year, while a fifth grader at Leaphart Elementary School, Ryan wrote a poem. It was entered into a contest I knew nothing about. That was last fall. Just 2 weeks ago, he was notified that is was chosen to be published. We are so proud of Ryan!!!! Here's his poem
America
America is a winner
Not another country's dinner
We are warm hearted,
not unparted.
Cease!
Let us have peace!
Evil has spread
Like butter on bread.
America's up to date
So why are you still in the 80's mate?
We glide like a kite,
So, oh so light.
America's that
A homerun every time at bat
A super power
We made so much progress
we can reach to the top of the tower

Ryan....what can I say. That was such a great poem on so many levels. I'm truly touched that you feel so deeply for our great nation!! There is hope for our future after all!! Keep up the good work!
