A New Poet in the Family!

Last year, while a fifth grader at Leaphart Elementary School, Ryan wrote a poem. It was entered into a contest I knew nothing about. That was last fall. Just 2 weeks ago, he was notified that is was chosen to be published. We are so proud of Ryan!!!! Here's his poem

America

America is a winner
Not another country's dinner
We are warm hearted,
not unparted.

Cease!
Let us have peace!
Evil has spread
Like butter on bread.

America's up to date
So why are you still in the 80's mate?
We glide like a kite,
So, oh so light.

America's that
A homerun every time at bat
A super power
We made so much progress
we can reach to the top of the tower

I DID IT!!!!!!!!

Ryan aced his test today!!!!

Herb Alpert?!Dizzy Gillespie?!?

Ryan received his Daddy's trumpet today!! He starts playing next week after the BIG band test this week. If the kids can't pass the test, they don't get to stay in the band... Ryan said he made a 100 on the practice test. Everyone pray for him!!

Labor Day!!

Happy Labor Day everyone!! We cooked out and then had a surprise visit from Uncle Mark and Aunt Judi from Charleston!! We were SO excited to see them!! Brought to a close an awesome Holiday!!

Cody finished off the day with a nibble of Ryan's ear!
