Sheltie Fun Day 2005

Today we took Cody to Sheltie Fun Day at Fort Jackson hosted by the SC Sheltie Rescue. Cody won the prize for being the "youngest" sheltie! The contest for best costume was won by Bo Peep and her sheep!! and we got to meet a lot of really neat folks who all share our love for the Shetland Sheepdog. You will notice in the top picture how EXHAUSTED Cody was on the way home!!! A New Poet in the Family!

Last year, while a fifth grader at Leaphart Elementary School, Ryan wrote a poem. It was entered into a contest I knew nothing about. That was last fall. Just 2 weeks ago, he was notified that is was chosen to be published. We are so proud of Ryan!!!! Here's his poem

America

America is a winner
Not another country's dinner
We are warm hearted,
not unparted.

Cease!
Let us have peace!
Evil has spread
Like butter on bread.

America's up to date
So why are you still in the 80's mate?
We glide like a kite,
So, oh so light.

A homerun every time at bat
A super power
We made so much progress
we can reach to the top of the tower

Ryan received his Daddy's trumpet today!! He starts playing next week after the BIG band test this week. If the kids can't pass the test, they don't get to stay in the band... Ryan said he made a 100 on the practice test. Everyone pray for him!!

Labor Day!!

Happy Labor Day everyone!! We cooked out and then had a surprise visit from Uncle Mark and Aunt Judi from Charleston!! We were SO excited to see them!! Brought to a close an awesome Holiday!!

Cody finished off the day with a nibble of Ryan's ear!

Babies are SO stressful!!!

The last few days have been a bit stressful as we try to get this baby housebroken. Maybe the boys will appreciate things A LOT more. They adore their new puppy,but have learned MANY things along the way!!!!!

What a day!

We drove almost to Charlotte to get Cody, and after an exhausting drive home...and some playtime..and OF course getting aquainted with Joe, Tom and Olivia.........sleep was inevitable!!!

A New Family Member!!

On Friday August 26, we brought home a new family member.....we call him "Cody" We have not decided what his formal name will be yet.......He is an 8 week old Shetland Sheepdog also known as a "Sheltie"..the boys are beside themselves!!!! Merry Christmas Boys!!!!
